Pizza has to be one of the most universally loved dishes out there. We all may differ when it comes to the toppings we prefer, whether we opt for thin crust or something with a little oomph - but ultimately the hot, cheesy goodness seems to be irresistible. Zorch masters this art of za in a truly superb fashion.
The shop itself (which can be found in the heart of none other than Carytown) is in a tiny space, which allows for the addictive aroma of greasy pizza to permeate all the more intensely. Patrons can order an entire pizza or can enjoy it by the slice if they're looking to try a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Like any practical pizza joint, they have the red pepper flakes and parmesan on lock, in addition to some hot honey, which is my personal favorite atop a piping hot pepperoni pizza. The portions are generous.
As a Chicago implant I'm something of a pizza snob (not really, I'll probably eat any pizza), and Zorch exceeds my expectations each time. The creative collaborations they have done with countless businesses across the city are always fun and of course delicious. If any type of cuisine was to be dubbed essential, pizza has to be a top contender. Zorch may be scorchin inside on a hot day, but it certainly will satisfy your hankering and even has a nice beer selection if you want to pair your slice with some grains.
