moore street café

2904 W Moore St, Richmond, VA

You know when people say they are craving a greasy diner breakfast? This superbly staffed (and flapjack stacked) restaurant is always a delight to visit. You feel immediately at home here. I have frequented Moore Street more times than I can count, and each time I leave I still cannot wait until I go back.

Perhaps the most beautiful thing about Moore Street Café is that if there happens to be a wait (there always is since there's always a bustling crowd but they are QUICK), you can walk around to the side where there is a bar and plenty of outdoor seating. The thrift shop nextdoor houses guests in the colder months and allows for a little shopping while you wait. As for food, you honestly cannot go wrong but the pancakes are certainly worth trying. A hodgepodge of food called the Squirrel's Nest is also great.

There are generous pitchers of different flavored mimosas called "Moore-mosas" that one can dabble in. There is not only one bar in the main entry area but one in the back as well. Although there are other great breakfast places in Richmond, Moore Street stands out because their service is prompt and friendly, and the food tastes delicious every single time. Moore Street is so good that I've even come here to eat by my lonesome, which circles right back to the sentiment that this place feels like home.
