If you have a hankering for some Vietnamese cuisine, look no further than Mekong. Situated on the slight outskirts of the city on Broad Street, Mekong shares a space with the coveted brew pub The Answer, which bleeds over to its own more than ample beer selection. And that's just the beginning!
The dining area is divided into various parts, one to the right of the entryway and one through an awning to the left. Straight back from the entryway there is a bar with a few hightops facing it. The decor is quite minimal but the attentive service, fantastic food, and of course all the brew makes up for it. We opted for some pan fried pork dumplings to start which completely won us over straight away. It only felt right to order some pho as well, so we did and we spiced it up with the spice rack provided.
As a huge fan of The Answer, Mekong is the perfect counterpart. They are very accommodating to large parties, but that isn't to say you couldn't stroll in here with one or two others and enjoy a few brews and perhaps a few appetizers. The mood is whatever you'd like to make it. The portions are great for the price, and you never feel like you're being neglected by the staff. If you want to quaff down something other than beer, the perfectly foamy Vietnamese iced coffee is a splendid treat to cap off a nice meal.
