Fans of Texas barbecue who live in Richmond but want a joint that has real authenticity and passion for their craft will certainly fall in love with ZZQ. Something of a renowned restaurant, what with its appearance on Guy Fieri's beloved Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, ZZQ is not a place you want to miss.

The brisket is always seasoned to perfection and deliciously plump, fatty, and flavorful. We also opted for their current Thursday special, a decked out beef and cheddar, and their incredible beets as a side. All of the sides complement the main attraction (the meat). Sat atop each table inside are their specialty sauces that you can adorn your meat with. The sassy mixed well with the thin, and the thick added dimension with its range from sweet to spicy. It is very laid back inside, modest considering the quality.

ZZQ also has a sister restaurant that is in the Scott's Addition neighborhood as well, the magnificant Eazzy Burger. Leave it to the meat connoisseurs to be able to tap into the burger market in the city, and they do not disappoint there either. Anytime I think about ZZQ I swear I begin to salivate. The tenderness of the meat, the exciting specials that pop up, and all of the variety of flavor and the big Texas energy, it all mixes together to create something truly irresistible and special for the city.
